Scrubs

After graduation I moved back to california and stayed with my parents while I'm still looking for a job. As I wait for the companies where I sent my application to to answer, I became more restless and bored. I watched every darn show in our television every day. Doing so, I stumble across one of the great TV series ever made in the history of TV. I found the tv show "scrubs" as a new found friend that would be there for me when I'm bored. I heard about scrubs when I was still in college from my friend but i never really payed enough attention to it. But when I started watching it on my own, man! i could never stop. The show is so funny! Scrubs is about 4 doctors, a surgeon, a nurse and other supporting casts who works at the sacred heart hospital where their lives revolve around. Here, they learned to love each other, hate each other, be mean to each other, compete to each other, grieve, teach, help, scold, hurt and be there for each other. The thing about Scrubs is that it is not only funny but at the end of each episode, there are lessons and values in life that will either make us realize something or that will touch our hearts. The show could lead us into epiphany. This is why I love Scrubs. I already seen season 1-3 and I'm currently watching season 4. Watch this show and I'll guarantee you, you'll love it. to watch the episodes from the beginning try this link meanwhile I'll post some clips from scrubs. The first one is just a compilation of scenes from scrubs with the song "How to save a life" by The Fray in it. The other one is from the episode entitled "My Lunch" from season 5. This one of the most touching scene ever. This is when Dr. Cox have to make a crucial decision where they need organs for their 3 patients. Two of them is about to die and one could wait to receive an organ. When they finally found a donor they immediately get the organs they need. But little did they know that the person they get the organs from dies of rabbies which causes infections to all the recipients. Dr. Cox is so obsessed from getting does organs because he does not want his patients to die. It is very touching. It also has the song "how to save a life" by the Fray.

look back 2006....expectation and prediction 2007

time flies so fast! I made it through 2006. let me just summarize the events in my life in the year 06.

nothing really exciting that happened to me in the first quarter of 2006 except for my busy schoolwork where I took most of my major subjects at that time. Winter semester of 06 really stressed me out that I failed one subject during spring term (stupid humanities class!) All the procrastination that put me way behind my homework schedule which led to more stress took its toll on the spring term of 06. I failed one class and I really got sick of studying! My only cure was to go back to california and unwind. That was a good break for me and it helped me to put things in perspective again. After that I worked during summer and I did a lot of internship work from Olelo community Television. The internship taught me a lot of things in multimedia production. oh! by the way before I forget, there was one exciting thing that i remember that happened to me during the first quarter of 06. I fell in love! wow! I almost forgot about that. i'm over it though but I fell in love with my really close friend. I didn't really expect to fall for her but it just happened. maybe that is why I made this a big deal because I'm a type of guy who love unexpected things especially about love and romance. it didn't work out because I have issues and by the time i told her about my feelings it was too late because she likes someone else already.
so...going on with my retrospection. summer was also an important time for me because I got to know who are my true friends. I got to know the people who I taught were my friends but in the end they will leave me behind just because I don't have some things that others have that they could use to do things that they know that I'll disagree with. what hurts me the most though is I found out that they feel like I'm a controlling person that i control their actions. Maybe I was a little bit controlling but whatever it is i did not do it on purpose and if I did it on purpose i just want to put a little integrity on things that I believe in. well anyways, that was last summer and everything is Ok now but it will never be the same again.
going on... fall semester was a very light semester for me because i only have 8 credits. although I got stressed out on applying for an OPT card everything went well. And finally I graduated from my school with a degree in Information systems. This is the main highlight of year 06 for me. I finally finished school and my parents were so happy because they finally made one of their children finish school. This a big accomplishment for them and i'm so happy to make them so proud. after graduation I got $500 from my relatives as a gift and some clothes. My dad bought me a new cell phone (t-mobile dash) and he sign up for a cable internet. That was awesome! finally, he is slowly giving his volvo s60R to me as a gift. If I found a job he is planning to buy a new car and totally transfer the S60 to me. i need a job so bad!

going to my predictions and expectations for the year 07. Well first of all i expect that i'll find a job that will give me more experience in my chosen field. I am also expecting and predicting that 2007 will be the year where visit the staples center and watch a laker game and see kobe bryant live! I also predict and hope that at least I'll find someone that will sweep me off my feet or if I'm lucky i might have a girlfriend this year. this is just a prediction so we'll see. I also expect to find out the result for my application for immigration status here in the US and if I'm luck I might go home to the Phil. and spend some time over there.

well these are my predictions and expectations for me this year of 07. hopefully everything will be executed as plan. Thanks for reading and you can go to sleep now!

Avoid Spyware!!!

being a computer support representative, part of my job is to troubleshoot, fix or clean computers that are infected by spywares. Spyware are one of the reasons that make your computer run slower and they could also corrupt your data or send you a lot of spam email. If you want a complete definition of what a spyware is or what can it do you can read it here in www.wikipedia.org. The bottom line is spyware is not good and it'll execute programs that you don't need and make your computer slower. So, I have some tips on how to avoid spyware or lessen the possibility of attack.
first of all, update your Operating system. If you're using Windows Xp, make sure you have the latest service pack which is service pack 2. Also, if you see a yellow shield with an exclamation point on the lower right side of your screen ( taskbar-where the time is located) double click on it and installs the latest security updates from Microsoft. Microsoft always release an update every month so watch out for that. Secondly, have an anti-virus software running on your system. This will help you delete existing virus and prevents you from acquiring viruses. third, clean up your system by using anti-spyware programs. I personally use Ad-Aware which can be downloaded in download.com. There are also other anti-spyware programs that you can download on that site but make sure you read the reviews. AdAware doesn't give a real-time protection but it does scan your PC and delete spywares that it found. You can also clean your system by going to my computer>C: drive>Documents and settings> choose your username folder> and local settings> and delete everything inside your TEMP folders and Temporary Internet Files Folders. If you can't see Local Settings, go to tools on the top menu> folder options> click on the view tab> and select the radio button that says show hidden files and folders. Another thins you can do is to installs siteadvisor on your favorite browser. It currently support IE and Firefox. Siteadvisor gives you an idea which websites are clean when you're doing a search in google or yahoo Once installed, when you're doing a search in one of the search engines, they will warn you if the site has spyware by giving it a red mark. Lastly, don't just download free programs online. They, most of the times have some bugs that came with it.
well, hopefully I was able to help you somehow. if you have any questions, please feel free to comment.

New Gen is here!

so, with the release of Sony Playstation 3 in Japan last saturday and the impending release of Playstation 3 here in the US on November 17 plus the "release to manufacturer" of Windows Vista, I truly am feeling the spirit of not only the holiday season but also the Spirit of New Generation for technology and gaming. To make the matters more exciting, the Nintendo Wii will also be release this November 19 and thus the deployment of New generation console is complete. microsoft Xbox started it last year when they release the Xbox 360 however, I didn't feel the heavy impact of the New Gen. I guess this year is more important because two companies will release their new Gen console. There's a lot of hype with this one. i do feel that Nintendo Wii will be the hottest holiday season gift this Christmas and Wii will also be popular in the next few months but I think Sony will take its place again as the leading gaming console because of the power that the PS3 has. People will be excited for the Wii, yes however that excitement will be short lived when they found out how hard it is to play with the Wii that will require the gamer to make a lot of movement. I feel that Wii will be the console for the masses, for the family but PS3 will be console for hardcore gamers and I know that every gamer will be lusting to have PS3 in their possession.
Aside from the New Gen console, Microsoft also release their Windows Vista to the manufacturer meaning next year by january 2007. computer companies will start selling PCs with Vista as the companion OS. Apple's leopard will also be release next year and there will be a lot of excitement for the next few months.

Internet Explorer sucks!

So, I was making my portfolio website for my portfolio class in school. My portfolio will contain all the previous projects and assignments that I made for Instructional Development Design minor. I am using HTML because it is easier for me to integrate things that I want to do for my site rather than doing it all by flash which will take me months and actionscripts learning to do it. I purchased a domain name and I host my site in yahoo. Everything was working fine except for minor design changes that I need to make. I was testing my site using a Mozilla Firefox browser. I was happy with the progress that I was making until I decided to test it using Internet explorer from Microsoft. I noticed that the navigation for my Projects page is different in IE. Firefox and other browsers like Safari and Opera works smoothly with my site except for this stupid Internet Explorer browser. So, as much as I love Windows, I would discourage all of you from using IE. Instead, use Firefox or other known browsers available.
